negotimer Support

This is the support page for negotimer, a timer that runs short pitches at networking events and meetups.

Please send questions and bug reports to the email address above. We usually reply within 2–3 business days (Japan time). When reporting a problem, including your device model, OS version and app version helps us look into it faster.

Frequently asked questions

What can I do for free?

Every timer feature is free. Creating and saving run sheets, automatic switching between pitch time and question time, countdown sounds, and repeating for every speaker all work without limits. The free version shows a banner ad at the bottom of the screen.

Buying Pro (a one-time purchase) removes the ads and unlocks recording. There is no subscription. Pro is ¥1,000 in Japan; the App Store and Google Play show the price in your local currency before you buy.

I bought Pro but it isn’t unlocked / I want to move my purchase to a new phone

Try “Restore Purchases” on the purchase screen. You need to be signed in with the same Apple ID (App Store) or Google account (Google Play) that you used to buy it.

A one-time purchase is tied to your account, so with the same account you can restore it at no extra cost. If it still won’t restore, please contact us with your purchase receipt.

Note that App Store and Google Play purchases are separate. If you use negotimer on both iPhone and Android, you need to buy it in each store.

On Windows, Pro is unlocked with a license key sent to you by email. On a new PC, enter the same key again under Settings → “Upgrade to Pro”.

Where are recordings stored? Are they sent anywhere?

They are stored only in the app’s private storage on your device and are never sent to our servers. No one, including the developer, can listen to them. See the Privacy Policy for details.

I want to use recordings for transcripts or minutes

Choose Share in the Recordings list to export a file you can send by email, save to cloud storage or pass to a chat app, using your device’s share feature. Hand the exported audio file to the generative AI service you use.

The app itself has no AI features. It is designed on the assumption that you transcribe and summarise with a service you already subscribe to.

Are recordings split by speaker?

Yes. When you record in sync with the timer, recordings are automatically split and saved as one audio file per speaker (pitch time + question time). There’s no need to search one long recording for where each talk began.

Is there anything to watch out for when recording?

Always tell participants in advance that you are recording. The app does not do this for you. Please use it responsibly, under the responsibility of the event organiser or host.

Recording also needs permission to use the microphone. If it isn’t granted, the timer runs without recording.

What’s the difference between “Individual”, “Shared” and “None” question modes?

Choose whichever matches your event.

I want to save the formats I use often

You can save as many run sheets as you like. Name them — “Networking 3-min Pitch”, “Meetup Lightning Talk” — and on the day, just pick one from the list.

Note that uninstalling the app deletes your saved run sheets and recordings.

I can’t hear any sounds

Check that your device isn’t in silent mode and that the volume isn’t turned down. The ten-second beep, the 3-2-1 countdown and the end alarm play at your device’s media volume.

I want to change the display language

You can switch the display language on the Settings screen (“Language”).

I want to stop the ads

Buying Pro removes the ads and unlocks recording at the same time. It’s a one-time purchase, so there are no further charges.

Where can I send requests or bug reports?
